    Q:
How to service and repair the Clutch Slave Cylinder on Toyota 4Runner? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair of the Clutch Slave Cylinder begins by using Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 to disconnect the clutch line while storing collected fluid in a container and tightening to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). Start by removing the two release cylinder securing bolts at a torque point of 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) before pulling out the release cylinder. The disassembly process requires extraction of the boot with push rod followed by use of compressed air to pull out the piston together with spring from the cylinder. A layer of lithium soap base glycol grease should cover the immersed piston before installing it with its spring inside the cylinder while the push rod mounted boot goes back onto the cylinder. An essential last step includes bleeding the clutch system after completing installation which follows the reverse sequence of uninstallation.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Clutch Slave Cylinder on Toyota Tundra? Posted by Customer
    A:
The servicing process of the Clutch Slave Cylinder starts by removing its filler cap and float from the reservoir while you extract brake fluid with a syringe until no fluid remains on painted surfaces. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 to disconnect the clutch line from the release cylinder while a container will catch the fluid. Unscrew the two bolts and then extract the release cylinder from its place. Before disassembling the Clutch Slave Cylinder first extract the boot and push rod which requires pulling out the boot with the push rod and then boot separation from push rod. Apply compressed air through the cylinder to remove the piston and spring but maintain control of the piston with waste cloth material to stop them from jumping out while avoiding brake fluid sprays. Next, remove the bleeder plug. Before sealing the bleeder plug use a 11 Nm (110 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.) torque. Also apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the piston before installing the piston and spring back into the cylinder. First install the push rod onto the boot before placing the boot with attached push rod inside the cylinder. The two bolts securing the release cylinder need to be torqued to 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) then the clutch line requires attachment to the release cylinder using Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 and torque it to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). The procedure ends with brake fluid in the clutch reservoir followed by bleeding the clutch system and leak inspection.
