A: The first step to service the fuel pressure regulator is to remove the fuel pump with sender gauge assembly from the fuel tank then unfasten the fuel suction plate through disconnecting the fuel sender gauge connector and ground plate while using two screwdrivers to gently free the suction plate while maintaining the suction support and its plate intact lastly disconnecting the fuel pump connector. The first step to remove the fuel pressure regulator includes both pulling it out and removing its O-ring. The installation process starts with placing a new O-ring on the pressure regulator before applying a light gasoline coating to both O-ring and pressing the pressure regulator inside.
