    A: Start service or repairs on the compressor clutch by letting the engine idle while keeping the A/C on for ten minutes followed by engine stoppage and battery negative terminal cable removal. First discharge refrigerant from the refrigeration system before removing the front under hood component and disconnecting the drive belt. Start by disconnecting the connector of the wire harness clamp and the three bolts which maintain the compressor while taking care to prevent damage to the discharge and suction hose. To avoid system contamination you should remove the two bolts on the discharge and suction hoses then quickly install caps. The discharge and suction hose installation requires compressor oil lubrication for new O-rings followed by bolt tightening to 9.8 Nm (100 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb) with an immediate fitting of the hoses after removing their caps. Reinstall the compressor through three bolts while torquing them to 24.5 Nm (250 kg.cm, 18 ft.lb) and reattach the connector. First check and install the drive belt before reconnecting the negative battery terminal cable. The operator needs to remove all refrigeration system air before adding 500 plus or minus 30 g (17.64 plus or minus 1.06 oz.) of refrigerant. Vehicle owners should conduct a gas leak test on the refrigeration system with a detector probe while rechecking joint torque levels for leaked areas followed by an air conditioning operational check.
