2000 Toyota Echo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Radiator Cooling Fan Motor on 2000 Toyota Echo?
A: Service and repair of the Radiator Cooling Fan Motor begins with draining all engine coolant from the system. You must detach the upper radiator hose from the radiator followed by removing the upper radiator support. To begin the Radiator Cooling Fan Motor repair service you must disconnect the reservoir hose alongside the cooling fan connector before removing all three screws securing the cooling fan unit. Disassembly of the Radiator Cooling Fan Motor requires first removing its nut and fan before detaching the fan motor with three screws. The fan motor assembly process requires screw installation with 2.65 Nm (27 kgf-cm, 23 inch lbs.) torque for vehicles with A/C and 3.98 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 inch lbs.) torque for vehicles without A/C. Install the fan and its nut after tightening to 6.4 Nm (66 kgf-cm, 57 inch lbs.). Three bolts surrounding the cooling fan need to be tightened to 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 inch lbs.) during the installation process while connecting the cooling fan connector. Proceed by reattaching the upper radiator hose to the radiator while putting in place the radiator upper support. After adding engine coolant you should start the engine to inspect for any coolant leakage.
