The service process starts by detaching the throttle cable engine linkage through throttle linkage removal. The service team should start by taking out both the park/neutral position switch and the valve body. Begin service of the throttle cable by taking out the bolt and retaining plate before extracting it through the transaxle case opening. After pushing the new throttle cable inside the transaxle case fully you must bolt and torque the retaining plate to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.). Reinstall the valve body. When working with a fresh throttle cable you should create a 7.87 inch radius stake or paint mark on the inner cable by lightly stretching it to generate slight resistance before placing the stopper 0.031 to 0.059 inch from the outer cable end. Fasten the throttle cable to the engine system before torquing it up to 15 Nm (150 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). Reposition the throttle cable then put back the park/neutral position switch and optionally place the cruise control actuator using three bolts which need to be torqued at 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.). The test drive should follow the battery reinstallation.
