Repair of the throttle cable/linkage starts with disconnecting the throttle cable and cable clamps in the engine compartment from the throttle linkage. The service procedure starts by separating the park/neutral position switch from the rest of the components. Service the throttle cable by starting with cable removal through unfastening its retaining plate and bolt before slowly drawing out the cable from the transaxle case. When using new cables stake the stopper on their inner portion with a bend radius set to 200 mm (7.87 inch). Tilt the inner cable very gently until it generates a minimal resistance before solidifying it with staking at position 0.8 - 1.5 mm (0.031 - 0.059 inch) from the outer cable termination. The new throttle cable O-ring should be installed followed by throttle cable insertion to secure with the retaining bolt. Reassembly begins with returning the valve body followed by the park/neutral position switch installation. Then attach the throttle cable before filling the transmission fluid and determining the correct fluid level. Finally, perform throttle cable adjustment if needed.
