    Q:
How to remove the Neutral Safety Switch from the U241E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE on Toyota RAV4? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for removing the Neutral Safety Switch from U241E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE includes disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal while waiting a minimum of 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The process starts with battery extraction by untightening the nut followed by bolt and battery clamp removal which leads to the battery tray and battery removal. Climb to the battery carrier to remove the 4 bolts that keep it in place while detaching the 2 bolts from the battery bracket reinforcement. Start by cutting the switch connector followed by unfastening the nut which lets you remove the control cable from the control shaft lever. Remove the nut followed by washer and control shaft lever before using a screwdriver to pry off the lock plate while taking out the nut alongside the lock plate. The switch assembly removal process concludes by extracting the two bolts before pulling the switch from its position.
