The first step for servicing the Air Bag Control Module is disconnecting the negative battery cable while waiting 90 seconds to avoid activating the Air Bag system. The service sequence starts with removing the No. 1 console upper panel garnish followed by the No. 2 console upper panel garnish until the upper console panel sub-assembly is removed. The service starts by removing the switch base and console cup holder box then the upper rear console panel sub-assembly and ends with the console rear end panel. The workshop should first remove the No. 1 instrument panel bracket cover inner LH and the No. 1 instrument panel bracket cover inner RH. The last step is to remove the rear console box assembly followed by disconnecting the Air Bag sensor connectors for subsequent removal of the center Air Bag sensor assembly after the 3 securing bolts have been removed.

Remove the No. 1 instrument panel bracket cover inner LH and the No. 1 instrument panel bracket cover inner RH.
