    Q:
How to service and repair the fuel pressure regulator on Toyota 4Runner? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair of the fuel pressure regulator begins by taking out the air cleaner hose and the intake air connector assembly. Before disconnecting the fuel return hose from the fuel pressure regulator place a shop rag under the device to catch potential fuel leakage. First cut the fuel pressure regulator loose by removing the engine wire holding bolt on the LH cylinder head cover then unplug the protective bracket from the RH cylinder head cover and raise the engine wire. First detach the two holding bolts and smoothly extract the pressure regulator before taking off its O-ring. When installing a new O-ring on the pressure regulator always use gasoline first and put the O-ring onto the regulator before securing it to the LH delivery pipe while making sure it rotates without resistance; if your O-ring causes installation issues you must remove it for repetition of previous steps. Reinstall the engine wire with the bolt after tightening the two pressure regulator bolts to 8 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf). Secure the fuel return hose to the fuel pressure regulator with proper insertion of the hose till the stopper and use a clip to prevent movement. Last step includes attaching the intake air connector assembly together with the air cleaner hose and conducting a fuel leak inspection.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair a Fuel Pressure Regulator on Toyota Tacoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair of the Fuel Pressure Regulator initiates with disconnecting the air cleaner hose and the intake air connector assembly. The fuel pressure regulator requires a shop rag positioned under it while disconnecting its fuel return hose. The service starts by removing the holding bolt that attaches the engine wire to the LH cylinder head cover and then disconnecting the protector from its bracket on the RH cylinder head cover before lifting the engine wire. Begin by removing the two bolts on the pressure regulator and then simply pull it out before removing the O-ring. To install the pressure regulator apply a thin layer of gasoline to a new O-ring after which you should install it to the regulator until it rotates easily; otherwise retake all previous installation steps. Reinstall the engine wire using its bolt while tightening the pressure regulator with the two bolts to 8 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf). Securely attach the fuel return hose to the fuel pressure regulator by inserting it up to the stopper then fastening the clip. The final step includes establishing the intake air connector assembly followed by installing the air cleaner hose while conducting a fuel leak inspection.
