    Q:
How to remove the steering knuckle on Toyota Highlander? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the steering knuckle removal requires wheel removal followed by front axle hub nut deinstallation. The next step separates both the front speed sensor and the front disc brake caliper assembly. The next step involves removing the front disc while subsequent work requires the separation of the tie rod assembly alongside the front lower suspension arm. Detach the front drive shaft assembly afterward take away the front axle assembly. After the initial preparations the technician should remove the front lower ball joint along with the No. 1 front wheel bearing dust deflector and front axle hub hole snap ring before taking out the front axle hub sub-assembly. Before the steering knuckle removal ends, its necessary to remove both the front disc brake dust cover. The front axle hub bearing extraction requires the bearing inner race (outside) positioned onto the front axle hub bearing as well as Special Service Tool: 09950-60010, 09951-00430, V-blocks, and a press to accomplish removal from the steering knuckle while maintaining its level position during the operation.

    Q:
How to remove the steering knuckle on Toyota Highlander? Posted by Customer
    A:
To take off the steering knuckle start by removing the front wheel from both engine types before uninstalling either the 1AR-FE or 2GR-FE hub nut. Disunite the front speed sensor from the front disc brake caliper unit. Take off both front discs before splitting the tie rod system to detach the steering knuckle for 1AR-FE and 2GR-FE engines. Breaking the front suspension arm connection starts your process to take out the front axle assembly. Continue the disassembly process by taking out the front lower ball joint plus its dust deflector, the No. 1 front wheel bearing dust shield, the front axle hub hole snap ring, and the front axle hub assembly together with the dust cover. Finish by installing the bearing inner race on the front axle hub bearing before using special tools (09950-60010 and 09951-00430) and the press to detach the front axle hub bearing while keeping the steering knuckle evenly placed.
