Service or repair operations for wheel hubs begin by removing the ABS speed sensor pins with a pin punch and hammer against the pins before detaching the two sensor attachments through the use of Special Service Tool: 09520-00031 (09520-00040, 09521-00020). Hook the axle hub assembly to a soft jaw vise. Replace the hub if it receives either a forceful drop or powerful shock. Follow the sequence of Special Service Tool: 09520-00031 (09520-00040, 09521-00020), 09950-00020 along with 2 bolts (Diameter: 12 mm, Pitch: 1.5 mm) to remove the ABS speed sensor. Keep foreign matter off the sensor rotor while extracting it in a straight direction to prevent damage. Replacement of the axle hub assembly becomes necessary when the sensor rotor sustains damage yet one must avoid scratching either the axle hub surface or speed sensor. The contacting surface of the axle hub and new ABS speed sensor should be cleaned before installing the sensor on the hub with its connector facing down. The installation of the new ABS speed sensor requires Special Service Tools 09527-10011, 09710-04101, 09950-00020 and 09951-00680 along with a press to insert the sensor while following these instructions: avoid hammer contact directly on the sensor and check for any foreign materials on the detection area before carefully pressing the sensor straight into place.

Start wheel bearing maintenance by taking off the axle hub through Special Service Tool: 09520-00031 (09520-00040, 09521-00010, 09521-00020). Service and repair operations on the wheel bearing require Special Service Tool: 09950-00020, 09950-60010 (09951-00380), 09950-70010 (09951-07150) together with a press to extract the inner race from the axle hub. Start by removing the dust cover through bolt removal before extracting the bearing from the axle carrier using snap ring pliers to detach the snap ring and placing the inner race on the outside of the bearing and employing Special Service Tool: 09310-35010, 09527-17011 with a press for bearing removal. The axle carrier bearing installation requires new bearing insertion using Special Service Tool: 09950-60020 (09951-00730), 09950-70010 (09951-07150) and a press followed by snap ring installation with snap ring pliers. After tightening the three bolts on the dust cover to 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.), install the axle hub with Special Service Tool: 09608-32010, 09950-60010 (09951-00550), 09950-70010 (09951-07150) and a press.

Begin by removing the axle hub using Special Service Tool: 09520-00031 (09520-00040, 09521-00010, 09521-0020).

It must be replaced.

Remove the cotter pin and nut with a torque of 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft. lbs.), and if the holes for a new cotter pin are misaligned during installation, tighten the nut further up to 60°. Use Special Service Tool: 09610-20012 to disconnect the tie rod end.

Remove the front axle hub by taking out the 4 bolts with a torque of 56 Nm (571 kgf-cm, 41 ft. lbs.).

Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts on the lower side of the shock absorber, coating the nut's thread with engine oil during installation, and then remove the steering knuckle.
