The process to maintain and fix the Transmission Position Switch/Sensor starts with front
Exhaust Pipe and heat insulator removal. The service requires unfastening the oil cooler pipe first by removing the 3 oil cooler pipe clamps before disconnecting the oil cooler pipe. First disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector along with its lock washer then remove the switch nuts. To continue remove the bolt and take out the park/neutral position switch. The first step is to install the park/neutral position switch and bolt with proper torque settings of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.) while installing a new lock plate together with its nut set to 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 inch lbs.) before bending the lock plate claws to keep the nut in place. Complete the adjustments of the park/neutral position switch before connecting the connector. Begin by fitting in the elbow together with the new O-ring before tightening it to 34 Nm (350 kgf-cm, 25 ft. lbs.). Proceed with attaching the oil cooler pipe using the same torque value and securing it using all 3 oil cooler pipe clamps. Put back the front exhaust pipe and the heat insulator as the last step.
