A Coupe driver must start windshield glass removal by taking off the inner rear view mirror assembly. The first step to access the windshield requires you to take away the front door scuff plates (LH and RH), cowl side trim (LH and RH), roof side rail Weather Strip (LH and RH), front door opening trim Weather Strip (LH and RH), front pillar garnish (LH and RH), visors (LH and RH), visor holders, assist grip, and roof console box from the roof headlining assembly before partially lowering the roof headlining to continue with windshield removal. Remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly as the next step. The outer upper part of the windshield moulding should be cut off with a knife while maintaining the vehicle's body integrity before manually removing any leftover moulding material. The windshield glass can be detached through body protection measures followed by penetration of piano wires and attachment of handles. The paint and ornaments need protection so pad the piano wire with a plastic sheet to stop scratches from forming between the instrument panel. Make alignment marks on the windshield glass and vehicle body before the adhesive separation with piano wires. Then release the stoppers and remove the glass with a suction cup while letting maximal adhesive stay on the body. The windshield glass requires cleaning of stoppers, retainers, dams and adhesive through scraping followed by an edge treatment with white gasoline that should not touch the surface. A proper bond for installing a new windshield requires finishing the cleaning process by shaping contact surfaces to remove excess adhesive before using a cleaner on the areas of application.
