Installation of the back door lock assembly would require 3 bolts to be secured with 12 Nm torque. Connect the connector and rod, and then connect the back door lock control cable. Lastly, install the back door trim board, and side garnishes, then the back door center garnish.

How to remove the Trunk Lid Latch assembly on Toyota Matrix?

In order to take off the back door lock assembly, take off the center garnish first, then the left and right side garnishes followed by the trim board. To completely remove the lock assembly, disconnect the lock control cable, the rod, and connector and remove the three bolts connecting the lock assembly.
