Toyota Highlander Fan Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the No. 2 cooling fan motor and the associated components on Toyota Highlander?
A: You must tighten the No. 2 cooling fan motor with three screws according to different torque specifications. For vehicles without the towing package use 2.6 Nm (27 kgf-cm, 23 in-lbf) and for those with the package apply 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf). You should follow the same torque recommendation to install the No. 1 cooling fan motor. Secure the cooling fans by connecting their 2 connectors and installing the insulator with 3 screws at a torque of 2.6 Nm (27 kgf-cm, 23 in-lbf). Install the 2 fans using 2 nuts which need to be torqued at 6.3 Nm (64 kgf-cm, 56 in-lbf). Installation of the fan assembly requires it to be installed with its motor and then the Radiator assembly with fan assembly and motor must be installed.
