Toyota FJ Cruiser Clutch Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Clutch Master Cylinder on Toyota FJ Cruiser?
    A:
The first step in removing the Clutch Master Cylinder is to drain clutch fluid followed by disconnecting the clutch reservoir tube. The union nut wrench enables the flexible clutch master cylinder hose tube to disconnect from its installation. Start by removing the front floor footrest alongside the front door scuff plate LH and place off the cowl side trim board LH. The No. 1 instrument panel register assembly must also go along with the lower LH instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly before taking off the instrument panel lower LH. The driver side junction block should be separated before you remove the clutch pedal with clutch master cylinder through clutch start switch connector and clutch switch connector removal for cruise control systems (if equipped with it). The clutch pedal together with the clutch master cylinder requires removal by unfastening two nuts and a bolt. The clutch reservoir tube requires disconnecting before using a union nut wrench to separate the clutch master cylinder from its two-way tube. Detach the clutch start switch and nut from the clutch pedal support before taking the push rod clevis off with clip and pin from the clutch pedal. Detach the clutch master cylinder by uninstalling its two attaching bolts.
