The Fuel Injector that is found in Compact Cars particularly the Toyota Avalon plays a rather sensitive role of injecting fuel into the cylinders in the engine then the air gets to mix with it so as to create an optimal mixture for burning. This one is electronically controlled through the Engine Control Module (ECM), and the amount and timing of the fuel injection is depending on the load of the engine. Toyota Avalon over the years has used various kinds of fuel injection systems mainly based on direct and indirect injected forms. Begin by removing the fuel hose clamp from the fuel filter outlet pipe at No.1 location with caution because of stored fuel pressure. Use extreme caution when extracting delivery pipes together with the 6 injectors and No.1 fuel pipe while preventing injectors from falling and removing the 4 spacers from the intake manifold. You need to pull out each of the 6 delivery pipe injectors before removing the O-rings along with 2 grommets on each injector. Installation requires fitting new insulators and grommets to each injector followed by applying light oil with gasoline to the replacement O-rings before assembly. Install the 4 delivery pipe bolts and the No.1 fuel pipe bolt just for testing purposes while ensuring the injectors move without resistance; if the move is restricted, replace the O-rings. Tighten the 4 delivery pipe bolts to 10 N.m of torque (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) and the No.1 fuel pipe bolt to 19.5 N.m torque measurement (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf). Install the No.1 fuel pipe correctly by using the white paint marks for alignment and verify the fuel hose clamp creates a "click" sound when it is tightly secured. Reinstall the air assist hoses together with the pipe before rematching the injector connectors and putting back together the V-bank cover with air intake chamber assembly and air cleaner hose with resonator using three cap nuts and pressing down the fastener. Accomplish fuel leak inspection while never using previous O-rings and protecting fresh O-rings during installation and precedent application of spindle oil or gasoline before using them.

The process for the fuel tube sub-assembly requires pushing tube connectors onto pipes until they click and inspecting both points for damage or foreign materials before securing the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp. Installation of the intake air surge tank should avoid applying oil to bolts because you should use a 5 mm hexagon socket to correctly torque the 4 bolts to 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf) before completing installation with 2 nuts and 2 bolts torqued to 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf) and 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf). The repair process requires installation of the connector followed by vacuum hose clamp bolt tightening to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) and union connection to check valve hose then ventilation hose No. 2 insertion before clamp installation and throttle connection with motor body assembly. Next, connect the vapor feed hose and attach water by-pass hoses to throttle with motor body assembly. The air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose installation requires 3 clamps followed by tightening the hose clamp bolt to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf) before connecting the air flow meter connector alongside ventilation hose No. 1, 3 vacuum hoses and the fuel vapor feed hose No. 1. Once all previous components are in place, install the cowl top panel outer followed by the windshield Wiper Motor and link assembly then place the cowl top ventilator louver RH before putting the windshield wiper arm and blade assemblies for RH and LH. Attach the engine coolant while connecting the negative battery terminal cable before checking for coolant and fuel leakage. Complete assembly of the V-bank cover sub-assembly should start by inserting the clips from Point A to Point B.
