How to service the front wiper motor on Toyota Avalon?

The process of servicing front wiper motors starts with LH windshield wiper arm removal after unfastening the nut followed by identical RH windshield wiper arm removal. Removal of the cowl top ventilator louver is achieved by disengaging its 12 clips from the right-hand side. The service begins by disconnecting the connector then removing four bolts until you can take out the windshield wiper motor and link assembly. With tape-covered screwdriver intervene between the rod of the wiper link assembly and the windshield wiper motor assembly then unscrew the 3 bolts to detach the wiper link assembly. Begin the installation process by attaching the windshield wiper link assembly through three bolts which need to be torqued to 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) and then connect its rod component. Install the windshield wiper motor and link assembly through 4 bolts while tightening the bolts to 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf). Afterwards reattach the connector. After stopping the wiper with automatic control perform cleaning on wiper and pivot surfaces with a wire brush before tightening the FR wiper arm and blade assembly RH using hand-held arm hinge restraint while locking the nut to 20 N.m (209 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). After cleaning both wiper components again, install the left FR wiper assembly together with its nut but apply torque to 20 N.m (209 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) while supporting the arm hinge manually.
