How to remove the Air Injection Pump on Toyota 4Runner?

A proper removal of the Air Injection Pump begins with fuel system pressure discharge and engine coolant drainage. First detach the throttle body cover sub-assembly, then proceed with removing the air cleaner hose assembly. Disconnect the fuel hose and the fuel No. 2 hose followed by disconnecting the intake manifold connectors which will allow the hoses to be easily removed. Next the installer needs to take out the water by-pass pipe sub-assembly and the intake manifold assembly. Users must detach three components from the air pump assembly with bracket: No.2 air hose from the air switching valve and from the air switching valve connector and from the pressure sensor connector for the air injection system before removing all 4 securing bolts. To disassemble the air pump assembly first remove all 3 bolts and then take out the air pump assembly followed by the removal of its 3 insulators.
