How to Service and Repair a Door Jamb Switch on Scion xA?

In order to replace the courtesy switch on the back door, unscrew the negative battery terminal and let it rest 90 seconds. Do away with the back door trim and lock assemblies. Install lock, then trim and then reconnect battery. Do an initialisation later, since some systems need it on reconnecting the battery.
