First disconnect the negative battery cable then wait 90 seconds before starting to remove the Neutral Safety Switch from the U241E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE because this prevents Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners from activating. The following step requires removal of the ENGINE UNDER COVER LH. Begin the TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY disconnection process by unscrewing the nut from the control shaft lever followed by a removal of the control cable from the lever and removal of the clip for separation from the control cable bracket. To remove the PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY begin by disconnecting the switch connector then unfasten the nut and washer followed by the control shaft lever and use a screwdriver to sever the lock plate from the nut and plate and remove the 2 bolts which extract the position switch.
