The Scion Pinion Bearing is applied to maintain the alignment of the differential pinion gear to ensure that its power is passed to the wheels in a smooth manner without irritating sound. Scion was born in 2003 and addressed young buyers with striking paint, easy purchase, and small Release Series models that were exclusive. It was an experimental laboratory, with Virtual Scion City and more novel concepts that eventually found their way to mainstream automobiles. Small dimensions, unexpected passenger room, and low cost made a Scion the dream car of first time owners, who were fond of personal treatment. Although Scion was discontinued in 2016, the legacy of the Scion, which is customization, continues to influence the present moment. The Pinion Bearing was constructed as a precision rolling unit, which transfers radial and thrust loads, regulates the preload, and cuts friction to increase the life of the differential. To install Pinion Bearing to the differential, wipe the housing and shaft clean of grit that may scar the races. Install new races and put a light coating of oil on them, then squeeze the bearing into the pinion shoulder until it snaps into place. Slide on the inner race and place the pinion and tap the outer race completely home. Install another seal, the yoke, and slide over the pinion nut, but cautiously and remember to spin the yoke as you feel preload building up. The beam torque wrench can be applied to stop at the appropriate drag to ensure that the Pinion Bearing does not over crush and retain a silky rotation. Complete by checking backlash and pattern, screwing and refill with fresh oil in the gear to have a quiet traction.
