The Scion Floor Pan reinforces the bottom of the cabin, holds noise and water out and provides a firm, confidence-inspiring platform to the driver. Scion was tempting young purchasers with daring paint work, free one-price shopping, and numbered Release Series models that made each purchase a spectacle. Scion was also Toyota idea lab utilizing Virtual Scion City and music meet-ups to meet its fans and its million plus sales showed that new thinking can be successful in attracting first-time car buyers. Although the production was ceased in 2016, the Scion spirit of ingenuity and simple tailoring remains in small cars nowadays, and customers still remember that the Scion had a solid value, spacious cabins, performance engines, and music festivals that made shopping entertaining. The Floor Pan itself is a stamped sheet of steel which is large enough in size, giving the body a tie-up, and provides the mounting of seats and consoles, as well as excluding heat, road splash, and noise. The process of installing a new Floor Pan begins with the parking on the level ground, disconnection of the battery and the establishment of the solid jack stands. Take away seats, carpet and trim, drill factory spot welds, cut away rusty metal. Test-fit the replacement panel and clean shiny edges and apply rust inhibitor. Align the panels, clamp tightly, and make short and uniform passes using the weld along the existing seams to minimize warping until the Floor Pan is completely weld in place. Blend, brush over seam sealer, prime, lay down an underbody coating, paint, replace plugs and insulation, put in the interior back together, reconnect the battery, and do a test final inspection.
