Initiate the thermostat removal process by disassembling both left and right wheel opening extensions and left and right engine under covers. Drain the cooling system liquid from the engine as the next step. The first step of thermostat removal requires disconnecting the radiator hose outlet before unfastening the 2 nuts which attach the water inlet to the cylinder block. You must take out both the thermostat in addition to its linked gasket.
