2010 Scion xB Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front speed sensor on 2010 Scion xB?
A: The installation of the front speed sensor requires you to attach it to the steering knuckle using the bolt before setting the torque to 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf). The speed sensor tip and installation area need to be checked for foreign matters before installing the sensor without any deviations from its original angle. You should now fit clamp C to the shock absorber while connecting a bolt to the No. 1 sensor clamp that you should tighten to 29 Nm (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf) while directing the flexible hose to cover the front speed sensor. The No. 2 sensor clamp must be installed on the body with a second bolt that receives 8.5 Nm torque (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf) before attaching clamp B to the body. Fasten the speed sensor connector by applying clamp A to the body. Finally, the front fender liner along with the front side mudguard should be installed. Follow this procedure to install the front wheel with 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf) torque before reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal which requires 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) torque. Complete the process by validating the VSC sensor signal.
