- Q: How to install the hood cable assembly on 2010 Scion xB?A: The hood cable assembly installation requires feeding it into the engine compartment while passing through the upper radiator support before attaching the clamps based on the illustration. As the next step install the hood cable lever sub-assembly then join the hood cable. Secure the hood lock assembly using three bolts torqued to 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf) after applying MP grease to the sliding parts. Finally, connect the hood cable and torques it to the specified setting. The technician needs to inspect the hood sub-assembly followed by necessary adjustments. The water hose clamp bracket must be installed with 2 bolts torqued to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf). After installing the bracket, attach the radiator cover using 5 clips. The installation of the front fender liner LH requires three new grommets along with eight clips and four screws to be used while carefully aligning the slot of the pin hold clip vertically without rotating it. Affix the front side mudguard LH through its new grommet and two screws before securing the front wheel opening extension pad LH by two screws. Put the front wheel into place as the last step.
