• Q: How to install the water pump assembly on 2010 Scion tC?

  A: Apply a full length of seal packing from Part No. 08826-00080 or equivalent to the contact area for the 2AZ-FE cooling system by using a standard diameter between 2.2 to 2.5 mm (0.09 to 0.10 in.). Executing the installation requires oil-free contact surfaces along with a three-minute time constraint following seal packing application because outside this window a material change is needed. Refitting the water pump and clamp bracket requires four bolts and two nuts which should be tightened to 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf). Secure the crankshaft position sensor wire onto the clamp bracket before installing the clamp to the water pump. The installation of the water pump pulley needs Special Service Tool: 09960-10010, 09962-01000, and 09963-00700 to attach four bolts while torquing them to 26 Nm (265 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf). The installation of the generator assembly should follow the subsequent step of using the fan and generator V belt installation and engine coolant addition. Inspection for any coolant leaks must be followed by installation of the engine under cover RH and the front fender apron seal RH while the cable remains at the negative battery terminal.
