    A: The first step to remove the water pump from a 2AZ-FE engine involves disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable while waiting for ninety seconds to stop the activation of Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. Start by emptying the engine coolant and continue with the removal sequence by taking off the front fender apron seal on the right-hand side followed by the engine under cover on the right-hand side. Detach the fan alongside the generator V belt before proceeding to take away the generator assembly. The operation of the water pump pulley requires Special Service Tools: 09960-10010 09962-01000 to remove its four mounting bolts. The detachment process of the water pump assembly begins with removing the crankshaft position sensor clamp on top of the pump and following with separating the sensor wire from its clamp bracket. The procedure requires removal of the 4 bolts along with the 2 nuts and clamp bracket. A screwdriver will help separate the water pump from the cylinder block by inserting it between these components. Be cautious to prevent harming the contact surfaces as you peel the water pump away.
