2009 Toyota Tacoma TPMS Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the TPMS Sensor and Transmitter on 2009 Toyota Tacoma?
A: The Tire Pressure Warning Valve and Transmitter needs removal by taking off the front and rear tires of the vehicle. Rotating the tire valve cap off while also disposing of the core will evacuate air from the tire chamber. The nut should be removed after sufficient air has escaped and the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter can drop into the tire opening. Save all discarded components including the valve core together with the cap and nut and washer. Remove the tire bead while using the tire remover shoe while being cautious not to harm the sensor by placing it near the tire bead. Pull out the tire bead on the upper side before extracting the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter from the tire opening and then removing the lower tire bead. Before reusing the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter you should remove any grommet that has not sustained damage.
