  • Q: How to remove the coolant heat storage water pump on 2009 Toyota Prius?
A: The procedure to remove the 1NZ-FXE engine coolant heat storage water pump starts by disconnecting the rear floor No. 2 board followed by the rear deck floor box then the rear floor No. 3 board. Disconnect the battery cable and wait 90 seconds for safety reasons regarding Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. Begin by taking off the radiator support opening cover then proceed with removing the front left wheel and engine under cover from the left side before partially detaching the front fender liner on that same side. Severe the engine coolant before disconnecting the coolant heat storage water pump connector and the two hoses. Finish the procedure by unscrewing the bolt which secures the coolant heat storage water pump and extract the complete pump unit.
