Succeeding the fan and generator installation you must position the V-belt and examine its tension before completing the installation. Install the cable to the negative battery terminal before tightening it to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). Then add engine coolant while also checking for leaks. Both sedan and hatchback models require the final installation of the engine under cover RH.

Use Special Service Tool: 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-00600) to hold the pump pulley and remove the 3 bolts.

First, drain the engine coolant and remove the engine under cover RH.

Drain the engine coolant and remove the drive belt.

Place a new gasket and the water pump using the 3 bolts and 2 nuts, ensuring a torque of 11 Nm (112 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.).

Remove the Heater Water Pump Assembly by disconnecting the connector, removing the 2 bolts, and then disconnecting the heater water pump.

Begin by removing the radiator support opening cover, engine under cover LH, and engine under cover RH.

Reinstall the engine under cover RH, engine under cover LH, and the radiator support opening cover.

Visually check the drain hole for coolant leakage; if leakage is found, replace the water pump.

Drain the engine coolant.

Disconnect the connector for the HV water pump and the two water hoses.

Remove the radiator support opening cover, the front left wheel, the engine under cover on the left side, and partially remove the front fender liner on the left side.

Connect the connector afterward.

Remove 3 bolts and 2 nuts.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Remove the engine under cover on the right-hand side.

Inspect the fan and generator V belt, reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal with a torque of 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf), add engine coolant, check for any coolant leakage, and finally install the engine under cover RH.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
