2009 Toyota Prius Coolant Reservoir Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install the Coolant Reservoir assembly on 2009 Toyota Prius?
A: The first step for coolant heat storage tank installation includes inserting claws into vehicle openings before securing them with the stud bolt. During this process users should keep strong pressure on the coolant storage tank because the bracket bends easily. Install the 4 bolts along with the nuts following the torquing requirement of 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf). During the bolt tightening process for positions 1 and 2 ensure you direct the coolant heat storage tank bracket in a forward direction of the vehicle. First secure all the bolts and then attach both the water pump motor and temperature sensor connectors before connecting the two hoses. The connection of the cable to the battery negative terminal follows. Afterward install rear No. 3 floor board then rear deck floor box and finally rear No. 2 floor board. Check and fill the engine coolant then examine all coolant leak points. The installation process includes front fender liner LH followed by front bumper cover after which engine under cover RH and engine under cover LH and radiator support opening cover should be installed. Systems need initialization after cable removal from the battery terminal during the final procedure.
