2009 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the drive belt on 2009 Toyota Prius?
A: Place the drive belt temporarily on each pulley before beginning the installation process of the 1NZ-FXE engine drive belt. After placing the drive belt temporarily on each pulley adjust the tension by turning bolt B while tightening nut A to a torque of 40 Nm that equals 408 kgf-cm or 30 ft-lbf. Use the adjust bolt B to set the drive belt tension before securing the nut A to 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf) torque. The air cleaner case needs a No. 1 inlet connection using a clamp which requires a torque of 3.0 Nm (31 kgf-cm, 27 in-lbf) to secure it properly. The final step consists of engine under cover RH installation.
