2009 Toyota Corolla Clutch Master Cylinder Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install the clutch master cylinder assembly on 2009 Toyota Corolla?
A: Clutch installation requires first attaching the clutch master cylinder bracket and then fixing the clutch master cylinder with two nuts which must be tightened to 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). Place MP grease on the contact zone of the clevis bushing then link the clevis to the clutch pedal sub-assembly through the hole pin while inserting the hole pin from the right side of the vehicle before adding the clip. The installation of the union nut wrench requires 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) torque when using it but 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf) when not using it. This process requires a torque wrench with 250 mm (9.84 in.) of fulcrum length which must be parallel to the union nut wrench. Connect the clutch reservoir tube to the clutch master cylinder assembly using the clip as the final step. The procedure includes filling the brake fluid reservoir while performing a clutch line bleed and inspecting both fluid level and detecting any clutch system fluid leaks.
