2008 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the Clutch Master Cylinder on 2008 Toyota Yaris?
A: Start by screwing the push rod lock nut followed by attaching the push rod clevis making sure that the lock nut remains tight while dimension A stays equal to the measured value of A. Move to the next step by installing the clutch master cylinder through two nuts which should be torqued at 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf). You need to connect the clutch master cylinder to the flexible hose tube. A proper torque should be 14 Nm (144 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) when using a union nut wrench, but without the wrench the torque should be 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf). The required torque can be achieved when combining a torque wrench with a 300 mm (11.8 in.) fulcrum and a union nut wrench with a 22 mm (0.866 in.) fulcrum so the union nut wrench remains parallel to the torque wrench. Finish the connection between the clutch reservoir tube and clutch master cylinder assembly with a clip. Then install the brake booster assembly and check and adjust the clutch pedal sub-assembly before applying the instrument panel under cover sub-assembly No.1.
