2008 Toyota Tacoma Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to reassemble the front Wheel Hub on 2008 Toyota Tacoma?
A: Using 09527-17011 09608-10010 and a press tool insert the new inner bearing into the steering knuckle for 2WD. After that install a new snap ring with snap ring pliers. Install the new front axle hub oil seal with Special Service Tool: 09223-15020 09527-17011 and a plastic-faced hammer while applying MP grease to the oil seal lip. Use Special Service Tool 09710-30050 and a press to push the axle hub into the steering knuckle after putting 3 dust cover bolts which must reach 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf) in torque settings. Before putting the front axle hub nut in place, fasten three bolts onto the hub bolt according to the assembly drawing and establish a firm grip with a vise before attaching the spacer. Install a 36 mm socket wrench to put a new axle hub lock nut on and torque it to 199 Nm with a 147 foot-pound force. Secure the lock nut with stake tools made of chisel and hammer. You should fit the knuckle grease retainer cap onto its housing using a brass bar and hammer while avoiding any harm to the component.
