2008 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the fuel injector assembly on 2008 Toyota Sienna?
A: The installation process for 2GR-FE engine fuel injector assembly requires the application of spindle oil or gasoline to new O-rings before installing them onto each injector and the fuel delivery pipe contact area. The fuel injector installation requires pushing and turning the assembly into the fuel delivery pipe with the connector facing outward. Attentively avoid O-ring twisting during installation and ensure the injector turns without resistance; replace the injector with a new O-ring if it does not. Install 6 new insulators to the intake manifold and carefully attach the fuel delivery pipe with all installed fuel injectors positioned on the intake manifold. Keep the injectors from falling during this step. Use intermittent 5 bolts to maintain the fuel delivery pipe position on the intake manifold before tightening them to achieve a torque of 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). After, connect the 6 fuel injector connectors. Insert the tube connector into the fuel pipe while listening for its clicking sound and verify the connection through light pulling forces on both surfaces before installing the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp. New clamp installation must be done to the No. 2 fuel pipe. The intake air surge tank assembly needs a new gasket after which install 4 bolts with a torque of 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf) using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench then place the assembly with 2 nuts and 2 bolts torqued to 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf) and 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf) respectively. Secure all necessary connections by adding the union to check valve hose and No. 1 ventilation hose as well as throttle with motor body assembly connector and vapor feed hose assembly and the two water by-pass hoses. The air cleaner cap sub-assembly receives 2 bolts for installation while the system includes the No. 2 ventilation hose with the air cleaner hose band and vacuum hose (EVAP) and 3 vacuum hoses. Drip engine coolant into the engine while connecting the cable to the negative battery TERMINAL and inspect the system for coolant and fuel leaks. Fasten the No. 1 engine under cover by using 7 bolts that must reach a torque of 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf). Then connect the fuel pump resistor connector along with the wire harness clamp. Fasten the No. 1 cowl top to cowl brace inner with 7.5 Nm torque (76 kgf-cm or 66 in-lbf) before installing the windshield wiper motor and link assembly then front wiper arms (LH and RH).
