The first step to rebuild the brake master cylinder requires the application of lithium soap base glycol grease to the 2 brake master cylinder union grommets before mounting them onto the brake master less reservoir tank cylinder sub-assembly. Install the master cylinder union using a 5mm diameter pin punch and hammer together with the pin. Then, install two fresh O-rings onto the assembly. Secure the brake master less reservoir tank cylinder sub-assembly through 2 nuts and 2 bolts while torquing them to 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf). When preparing to link the diameter converting unit to the master cylinder maintain proper installation of the No. 3 piston with no free movement. Perform the installation of the brake tube to the brake master cylinder by using Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 while applying a torque of 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf). Finally, install the new O-ring.
