2008 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the Steering Angle Sensor on 2008 Toyota Prius?
A: A proper removal of the Steering Angle Sensor starts with disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal while waiting at least 90 seconds to protect against Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. First make safety checks then unfasten the No. 2 lower part of the Steering Wheel Cover followed by the No. 3 lower part of the Steering Wheel Cover. You should begin by removing the Steering Pad Assembly followed by the Steering Wheel Assembly before moving on to the Tilt Lever Bracket and concluding with removal of the Steering Column Cover. Detach the Spiral Cable Sub-Assembly after the removal of all components. The completion of sensor removal requires detachment of six claws along with extraction of the sensor through the spiral cable.
