How to install the thermostat on 2008 Toyota Matrix?

Place the new gasket on the thermostat then position the jiggle valve facing upward at either 10 degrees from the correct position. The water inlet requires 2 nuts where you should tighten them with 11 Nm torque (112 kgf-cm or 8 ft-lbf). Per the installation sequence you need to place the new gasket on the thermostat before aligning the jiggle valve in an upward direction while maintaining it within ten degrees of any specified orientation point. Then install the generator assembly followed by adding engine coolant to complete the process. Verify for coolant leakages before putting on the engine under cover RH.
