2008 Toyota Matrix Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front Sway Bar Kit on 2008 Toyota Matrix?
A: Install the front sway bar kit by first adding 2 front sway bar bushes No. 1 along with front sway bar bracket No. 1 LH and front sway bar bracket No. 1 RH to the sway bar kit front with the bushing on its inner side of the bushing stopper. After positioning the sway bar kit front with its 4 bolts in the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly, tighten them to 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf). After mounting the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly you should add the rack & pinion power steering gear assembly and front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No. 1 LH. Following the exact procedures from the LH side will allow you to install the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No. 1 RH. Secure the sway bar link with two nuts then torque them to 74 Nm (755 kgf-cm, 55 ft-lbf). If the ball joint rotates with the nut installation you should use a 6mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud. You should install the front sway bar link assembly RH following the same process as previously executed for the LH assembly. To finish install the front wheel while tightening it at 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf) torque and perform required angle check-ups for front wheel alignment.
