2008 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the Hood Cable on 2008 Toyota Highlander?
A: The Hood Cable needs to be removed after Engine Under Cover Assembly together with No. 1 Engine Under Cover. The service technician should begin by removing the Front Fender Moulding Sub-Assembly LH and then the Front Fender Liner LH. As the next step remove both the Cool Air Intake Duct Seal and the Radiator Grille. You should start by removing the hood lock nut cap before proceeding to eliminate three bolts and detach the hood lock control cable while also removing the assembly for the Hood Lock Assembly without Engine Hood Courtesy Switch. Garage owners must disconnect the connector from Hood Lock Assemblies with Engine Hood Courtesy Switches then remove the hood lock nut cap and three bolts before disconnecting the hood lock control cable to extract the assembly. Lastly for Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly removal you need to disconnect the cable from the hood lock control lever then disconnect the clamps with a screwdriver whose tip you need to tape beforehand before pulling the cable from the engine compartment.
