  • Q: How to remove the drive belt on 2008 Toyota Highlander?
A: For the process of removing the drive belt from a 2GR-FE engine start by removing the front wheel on the right side and the engine under cover assembly. The first step involves taking off the No. 1 engine under cover and the front fender moulding sub-assembly RH by removing the clip followed by unscrewing with a 4 mm hexagon wrench then peeling off the front fender side protector and disengaging the 3 clips to remove the pad and 2 clips No. 4 from the sub-assembly. Proceed to take off the front fender liner RH and the front fender apron seal RH. You can remove the V-ribbed belt through the use of Special Service Tool: 09961-00950 by rotating your tensioner assembly counterclockwise followed by pulling the belt out from the tensioner assembly. The 5 mm bi-hexagon wrench should be inserted into the tensioner assembly holes as you rotate the assembly counterclockwise to position it before securing it with the wrench.
