Folded engine oil should drain through two components: first remove the oil filler cap then the oil drain plug leading to an oil collection container. Install the drain plug with its new gasket by torquing it to 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf). The first step is to remove the oil filter sub-assembly using Special Service Tool: 09228-06501. The clean engine oil surface should receive new filter gasket application before new filter installation. The filter should be screwed lightly until its gasket touches the seat before using Special Service Tool: 09228-06501 to apply a torque of 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) if enough space permits or apply a hand-tightened 3/4 turn instead.
