How to remove and replace the Engine Control Module (ECM) on 2008 Toyota 4Runner?

The first step to replace or remove the Engine Control Module (ECM) for the 2UZ-FE engine control system involves starting with instrument panel under cover sub-assembly No. 2 removal then proceeding with glove compartment door sub-assembly and the instrument panel finish panel lower No. 2. First disconnect the 5 ECM connectors before uninstalling the ECM with its 3 retaining nuts. Start by removing the two screws which detach ECM bracket No. 1 from the ECM system before detaching the two screws holding ECM bracket No. 2 to the ECM.
