  A: Starting the starter motor repair requires disconnecting terminal C wire from the magnet switch body and removing two screws which anchor the starter drive housing assembly. After this, extract the return spring and plunger from the magnet switch body. First remove the starter commutator end frame assembly by pulling the starter yoke assembly along with the starter commutator end frame assembly through the two through bolts. Use a screwdriver to uninstall the cover at the commutator end frame of the starter. Allow the starter commutator end frame to rest between aluminium plates in a vise with minimal pressure while performing the removal of its snap ring and plate washer through snap ring pliers before extracting the starter armature assembly from the commutator end frame assembly to prevent any drops. First disconnect the starter armature plate from the starter yoke assembly before you take away the 3 planetary gears from the starter drive housing. The engineer must pull out the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly with its drive lever set pin from the starter drive housing assembly to remove the drive lever set pin from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.
