• Q: How to install the PCV Valve on 2008 Scion xD?

  A: Start with an adhesive application to 2 or 3 threads of the ventilation valve using Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324 or Three Bond 1324 or their equivalent brand. Install the ventilation valve at 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf) torque strength before attaching the ventilation hose. The installation of the automatic transaxle begins with attaching the intake manifold and transmission oil level gauge and engine oil level dipstick sub-assembling. After the automatic transaxle oil cooler tube install, install the starter assembly followed by the injector vibration insulator until you reach the No. 1 delivery pipe spacer then install the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly followed by the fuel tube sub-assembly and fuel pipe clamp and vacuum hose and No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose. Complete the installation with harness brackets for the engine wire harness and air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose. The battery cable requires connection to the negative terminal at 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf torque setting before adding engine coolant for leakage inspections. Complete the installation by fixing the No. 2 cylinder head cover and then install engine under cover RH with 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf) torque followed by engine under cover LH using the same torque specification.
