  A: The first step to reconstruct the alternator involves bearing installation using Special Service Tool 09950-60010, 09951-00470, 09950-70010, and 09951-07100 for pressing a new bearing into the drive end frame's bearing slot. Afterwards, secure the retainer plate with its tabs inserted to the drive end frame holes through 4 screws tightened to 2.3 Nm (23 kgf-cm, 20 in-lbf). The clutch pulley should receive the drive end frame before installing the generator rotor assembly onto it. Afterwards, position the generator washer on top of the rotor. Install the generator coil assembly with Special Service Tools 09612-70100 and 09612-07240 before attaching 4 bolts tightened to 5.9 Nm (60 kgf-cm, 52 in-lbf). The generator brush holder assembly receives installation by pushing the 2 brushes inside followed by a 1.0 mm (0.039 in.) pin through the brush holder hole before using 2 screws tightened to 1.8 Nm (18 kgf-cm, 16 in-lbf) while removing the pin. To install the terminal insulator onto the generator coil, follow the correct direction guidelines before fixing the generator rear end cover with 3 nuts torqued to 4.6 Nm (47 kgf-cm, 41 in-lbf). Temporarily install the clutch pulley onto the rotor shaft, set the Rotor Shaft Holding Tool and Clutch Pulley Wrench (SST 09820-63020), clamp the Rotor Shaft Holding Tool in a vise, place the rotor shaft end into it, fit the Clutch Pulley Wrench to the clutch pulley, and tighten it clockwise to a torque of 111 Nm (1127 kgf-cm, 82 ft-lbf) without the Special Service Tool or 84 Nm (857 kgf-cm, 62 ft-lbf) with it, using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 318 mm (12.52 in.) and ensuring the Special Service Tool is parallel to the torque wrench. Dismount the generator assembly from the SST to inspect the clutch pulley rotation after which you should install a new clutch pulley cap to the pulley.
