2007 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the front wiper motor on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: The first step to serve the front wiper motor requires you to disassemble both front wiper arm and blade assemblies by removing the nuts and discarding the components on the left and right sides. The hood to cowl top seal detachment requires tooling and removal of 16 clamps using a clip remover then perform the same procedure for front fender to cowl side seals on both sides starting with the right side just like the left side. The cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly requires removal by uninstalling its clips and removing eight claws. Begin by disconnecting the wiper motor connector followed by removing the nut and then dismantling 4 bolts from the assembly. The windshield wiper motor assembly requires a screwdriver to disconnect its wiper link rod while tape-covered (taping the tip beforehand). Remove 3 bolts and rotate the crank arm clockwise to extract the wiper motor. Start with the windshield wiper motor assembly installation by screwing in 3 bolts at 7.5 N.m torque (75 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) while applying MP grease to the crank arm pivot. After this, attach the wiper link rod to the crank arm. Attach the front wiper motor and link assembly using 4 bolts jointed with a nut at 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf) and then reconnect the connector. After securing the 8 claws and 2 clips of the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly by pushing it into position, install the front fender to cowl side seals on both sides before continuing. Secure the hood-to-cowl top seal with 16 clamps before attaching the front wiper arm and blade assembly on both sides by stopping the wiper motor at its automatic position and cleaning the wiper arm and pivot serrations followed by torquing nuts to 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) while keeping the wiper arm hinge forced downward. To validate proper functioning and body clearance the process includes operating the front wipers while the washer fluid is applied to the windshield.
