  A: The first step to service or repair the transmission control cable for floor shift type requires removal of the front door scuff plates LH from both Regular Cab and Double Cab, cowl side trim board LH, lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly LH and its shift lever knob sub-assembly, upper console panel sub-assembly, upper rear console panel sub-assembly along with console rear end panel sub-assembly, console box carpet, rear console box assembly and front console box. Identify the cable end from the shift lever using the N position before disconnecting the cable end then remove the clip to dissociate the cable from the shift lever retainer before unfastening the cable from the automatic transmission with a nut. Disconnection starts by removing the nut and then moving onto the cable support together with the two bolts to extract the column shift transmission control cable inside the vehicle.
